Joel Cook Joins the LACRTC Family

We are excited and honored to officially welcome retired Assistant Chief Joel Cook to the LACRTC family. While Joel is already a key instructor in our ICS course “Working in the Edge of Chaos,” he will now be the Director of Tactical & STC Training. Joel Cook began his law enforcement career at the Long Beach Police Department in 1989. In 2018, Joel left LBPD as the Commander of the Field Support Division (SWAT, Air Support, K9, Motors, and Event Planning) to accept the position of Assistant Chief with the Santa Monica Police Department.

New Jersey, USA (Aug 2021) SkyeBrowse, the world’s fastest reality capture software for public safety drones, and the Los Angeles Country RTC (LACRTC) California’s largest certified UAS public safety training provider, today announced their partnership through which LACRTC will incorporate SkyeBrowse 3D modeling software into its UAV and tactical training courses. LACRTC students will be provided a trial license of the software.

Community Enrichment Program

The Los Angeles County Regional Training Center (LACRTC), a 501(c)(3) public benefit charity, is developing a Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) or Drone STEM program for the youth in our communities, and hopefully through donations and sponsor, the program will be offered nationwide. The classes are an introduction to the sUAS Industry of today and will be offered to pre-teen and teenagers.

Interdrone 2019

The Los Angeles County Regional Training Center was in attendance of this year’s InterDrone Conference 2019, The International Drone Conference and Exposition in Las Vegas. This conference is where the commercial UAV industry comes together with other UAV pilots, service providers, UAS engineers and developers, UAV manufacturers, videographers and enterprise UAV end-users at one of the largest, commercially dedicated drone shows. The conference was the place to be for everything new in the UAS industry, from new imaging software to Counter Drone Equipment, and everything in between such as FPV googles and UAS parts.
