Course Summary

This course was created to equip rescue personnel with the knowledge and skills to operate UAVs in confined space rescue operations.  The comprehensive curriculum enables pilots to grow from a basic to an advanced skill level, emphasizing confined space operations with multiple UAV platforms.  Attendees will become adept at managing UAV settings and software to maximize the drone’s full capabilities while learning insights, tips, and tricks for operating in GPS-denied, and no-light environments.

Students will:

  • Demonstrate precision piloting in confined space missions on multiple aircraft
  • Demonstrate adjusting settings and software to maximize drone capabilities
  • Apply techniques for flying in GPS-denied environments
  • Demonstrate precision flight in low/no-light conditions
  • Describe needed UAV characteristics
  • Explain UAV integration
  • Develop operational deployment strategies

Course Information

Course Length: 2 days (16 hours)
Max Class Size: 15 Students
Equipment: Students should bring their assigned equipment. Additional UAVs will be provided as needed.
Recommended Prerequisite: RTC UAS Operators Course, Basic Pilots Course, or equivalent training
Technical Level: Beginner to Advanced UAS Operators
Recommended For: UAS Operators in all public and private security industries.
Notes: RTC will supplement equipment as needed.
