UAV Indoor Tactical Course
This hands-on course was created to provide public safety personnel with the knowledge and skills to operate UAVs and ground robots in direct support of tactical and technical operations indoors and confined spaces. Students will fly precision exercises and in reality-based scenario training using multiple aircraft types, infrared, thermal, and self-illumination views. Students leave operationally ready with a deep understanding of UAS applications and capabilities.
Students will:
- Demonstrate techniques to effectively fly in First Person View
- Understand and apply techniques for interior operations
- Demonstrate advanced operational flight skills
- Apply advanced flight techniques specific to each UAV
- Operate a UAV and ground robot in support of a tactical team
- Identify TTPs
Course Information
Course Length: 2 days (16 hours)
Max Class Size: 15 Students
Equipment: Students should bring their assigned indoor UAS equipment. RTC will provide training equipment if needed
Prerequisite: RTC 48-hour UAS Operator Course, or 32-hour Basic Pilots Course, or have an FAA Part 107 license
StudentRequirements: FAA 107 License AND 20 hours of logged flight time
Technical Level: Advanced UAS Operators
Recommended For: UAS Operators and Supervisors / Tactical Teams
